I'm usually seen in wellies and waterproofs but last weekend (4 February) I donned my posh frock to attend the Guild of Photographers Annual Awards. I was really thrilled to have four images in the Finals - three in the Birds category and one in the Nature & Wildlife Category, but I never expect to win anything with such tough competition from other amazing photographers....... and to cap it all I was on Table 13!!!!
It was a fabulous evening and as the Awards commenced I was thrilled to achieve the Photographer's Bar in both the Natural World category & the Open category. This is awarded for consistently high standard of work throughout the year. I was then doubly thrilled when my name was called out to say I was in the Top Ten International Photographer of the Year in the Natural World category.
I really thought that was it but there was more to come!!! I was totally gobsmacked when they announced the Image of the Year, Nature & Wildlife ........ my Hare did it..... can you believe it. WOW. I really wasn't expecting that but I'm so super chuffed to bits.

A little correction to the text though!!! Last year I was runner-up Photographer of the Year, in the Natural World category, with the Guild of Photographers. The awards evening was at Crewe Hall not the Natural History Museum!! No idea where they got that from !! lol
